Golden Apricot

The film festival "Golden Apricot" is held annually in July, in Yerevan. It already has a good reputation in the world of cinema. Tens of filmmakers, who came from around the world, present hundreds of films on various competitive and non-competitive programs during the festival. The motto of the international film festival "Golden Apricot" has been the "Crossroads of civilizations and cultures" since its creation and was selected in order to establish and promote cultural relations and dialogue between Armenia and the world. The festival becomes a real celebration not only for local but also for the filmmakers of the region and the world. During the opening ceremony of the festival is performed the traditional ceremony of apricot consecration. The films are presented on the festival in three main nominations: feature films, documentaries and "Armenian Panorama". A grand prize of "Golden Apricot" and a special prize are awarded in each nomination. The All-Armenian tolma festival of Sardarapat is also held within the scope of the film festival "Golden Apricot".
