Mayr Hayastan (Mother Armenia) Military Museum

Military Museum Mayr Hayastan (Mother Armenia) is actually the museum of the Armenian military art and glory. The building of the military museum was constructed in 1950, as a pedestal for the monument to Stalin, and the museum was opened in 1973, under the name "Soviet Armenia in the Great Patriotic War." The museum is a three-storey building. It houses for about 30 thousand exhibits devoted to the Patriotic War and the Artsakh Liberation War in its funds. Especially the department of the Artsakh war is being replenished with new exhibits day by day. Here are stored the personal belongings and the weapons of the Armenian national heroes and soldiers who distinguished during the struggle for freedom… The military equipment located in the street that participated in the Great Patriotic War also belongs to the museum: Katyusha rocket launcher, the airplane Mig-15, the tank T-41, later they were replenished by the BM Desantnik (paratrooper), BTR-155, 75 missile system, which destroyed two enemy planes during the war. The complex also includes the alley of heroes and Monument to the Unknown Soldier.
