The History Museum of Armenia is one of the best museums in the world famous for its variety of exhibits. It was founded in 1919 as an ethnographical and anthropological museum. The first exhibits of the National History Museum were replenished with the collection of the Armenian ethnographic company of the Caucasus, created in the late 19th century. Nowadays, it houses about 500 thousand exhibits in the history museum, which reflect the history and the culture of not only the Armenian people, but also other nations of the region. These exhibits present the history and culture of Armenia since a million years ago till the present day. The exhibits evolves the entire territory of the Armenian Highlands and Cilicia, and reflect all the strata of history and culture of the Armenian people. Throughout its existence the History Museum of Armenia has published tens of proceedings, series of publications, brief reports on scientific research.
