Western Armenia

7 Days: MT. Ararat (5.167 m) Tour.

Day 1 The group will depart from Yerevan for Armenian-Georgian boarder (Bavra), then will reach Georgian-Turkish border via Akhaltskha city, after passing it welll visite two old armenian capitals Kars and Ani. Then welll travel to Bayazet by passing Igdir. Tour participants will spend a night in Bayazet.
Day 2 From Bayazet, the group will reach an altitude of up to 2200 meters of the Mt. Ararat by vehicle, from where will start walking path. After 4-5 hours of walk, the tour participants will reach first camp, located at an altitude of up to 3200m, where overnight stay will be held.1; luggage will be transported by horses. Overnight stay in tent.
Day 3 Packing of the tents and ascent to camp 2 (4.200m, 5 hours); luggage will be transported by horses; the tents stay protected from the wind behind a wall of stones. It will be only a short night. Overnight stay in the tent.
Day 4 Up to the peak 5.165m (about 4-5 hours). Start at 2 a.m. First you will have to climb over boulders and small rocks to the snow and ice cap on the peak area where, depending on the conditions, you may have to use climbing spurs. If the weather is fine there will be time for an extensive rest at the peak. Quick descent, with a rest at camp 2 and then a further descent to camp 1. Overnight stay in the tent.
Day 5 Further descent to Eli and return journey to Dogubayazit. Free time. In the evening, the group will have an opportunity to visit the Daroink Castle and old Bayazet. Overnight stay will be held in Bayazet.
Day 6 Reserve day.
Day 7 Depart for Yerevan.
