Martiros Saryan

National artist of the USSR (1960), Member of the USSR Academy of Arts (1947), Academician of the Academy of science of ASSR (1956), Hero of Socialist Labor (1965), the Chairman of the Union of Artists of ASSR (1945-1951)... and this is the incomplete list of titles of prominent Armenian painter Martiros Saryan. An artist, whose works are not only of the material, but also of spiritual and cultural value. He traveled a lot, had personal exhibitions in many countries. Nowadays Saryan's paintings adorn many prestigious galleries of the world, including the National Gallery of Armenia... Martiros Saryan died in Yerevan, in 1972. The world-famous painter is buried in the Pantheon of the Park after Komitas.
